Free Bracelet Tutorial with Arcos par Puca Beads - Amfora
This "AMFORA" bracelet pattern was developed by Yuliya Abelovich.
The length of one link of the bracelet is 1.17 cm (0.46 inch). You can make any length by adding or reducing the number of links.
For this bracelet you will need:
- Arcos par Puca (Red, White) – 4 pcs for each link;
- Pearls 3 mm (White, Gold) – 2 pcs for each link;
- Seed beads 15/0 (White, Gold) – 2 grams total;
- Fireline 0.10mm (6 lb) - 0.3 m + 0.17*length of the bracelet (for example, if the bracelet is 17.5 cm (6.9 inch), you will need 0.3 + 0.17*17.5 = 3.28 m (10.7 feet) of fireline;
- Two beading needles;
- Bracelet clasp and two jump rings for lock;
- Small pliers for jewelry making.
Instructions:
1. String both needles on the ends of one thread.
Take on the left needle Arcos, 6x seed beads 15/0, Arcos, seed bead 15/0, the way as picture shows.
2. The right needle goes through lowest hole of left Arcos.
3. The left needle goes through seed bead 15/0, lower hole of Arcos. Now you need to align the thread, so two ends will have the same length.
4. Take on the right needle 2 seed bead 15/0, go through the middle hole of Arcos.
5. Take on the right needle 2 Arcos (see picture above) starting from the middle hole of right Arcos and than go through the middle hole of the left Arcos.
6. The left needle goes through the middle hole of the left Arcos, goes through two lowest hole of new Arcos, and go out through the middle hole of the right Arcos.
7. Tighten the beading strongly.
8. Take on the right needle 3 seed beads 15/0, go out through the uppest hole of Arcos and go out through the middle hole of next Arcos.
9. Take on the right needle 1 seed bead 15/0 and go out through the middle hole of the left Arcos and the uppest hole of the nearest Arcos.
10. Repeat rwo last steps with the left needle.
The left needle goes the way, as I marked on the picture: 3 seed beads 15/0, the uppest hole of left Arcos, the middle hole of the nearest Arcos, seed bead 15/0, the middle hole of Arcos, and go out through the uppest hole of right Arcos.
11. Take on the right needle 1 seed bead 15/0, 1 Pearl 3mm, and go out through the uppest hole of Arcos.
12. Take on the left needle 1 seed bead 15/0, 1 Pearl 3mm, and go out through the uppest hole of left Arcos.
13. Take on the right needle 1 Arcos, 1 seed bead 15/0, 1 Arcos.
14. The left needle goes through lowest hole of the new Arcos, seed bead 15/0, and lowest hole of another new Arcos.
15. Take on the right needle 2 seed beads 15/0 and go out through the middle hole of Arcos. Now you need to repeat steps from 5 to 14 to make as long bracelet as you would like.
16. Pay attention during beadwork on the step 9. You should tighten the beading very strong. Even after tightening, the weaving can lie a little loose. Do not worry about this, during the reverse way of the thread, all the weaving will lie down tightly.
17. To finish your beadwork when you are ready follow this after step 14. You need to take on the right needle 6 seed beads 15/0 and go out through the uppest hole of the Arcos and Pearl on the left side.
18. After the Pearl on the step 17, the needle goes through 5 seed beads 15/0, and then string 3 new seed beads 15/0 and go to the Pearl and next 5 seed beads 15/0.
19. Continue creating the edge of the bracelet with seed beads 15/0. Repeat inserting 3 seed beads, as steps 18-19 show on the whole left side of the bracelet. When you are done, go with another needle through 6 seed beads 15/0 and repeat steps 18-19 on the right side of the bracelet.
20. When you have finished, both left and right needles go out before the two seed beads 15/0 you have strenght in the beginning of the bracelet (see picture). Take by 1 seed bead 15/0 on each needle.
21. The right needle goes through 2 old seed beads 15/0 as well as the left one. Then string by 1 seed bead 15/0.
22. Go through the last 6 seed beads 15/0 with both needles in opposite direction. The ends of the thread can be tied into knots in bead weaving. After this you may pass them through the weaving, tie one more time, and hide the ends of the thread in the weaving, cut off the ends.
23. With pliers unplug the rings (rings open with a sideways movement, as you see on the photo), and attach the clasp with the ring. Put the rings on the bracelet and close them tightly.
