FREE Tutorial - Vexolo pendant by Galina Shamanova

Materials needed:

• Czech Glass Cabochon Par Puca® 25mm - click here
• Czechmates™ Crescent Beads "A" - click here
• Vexolo Beads "B" - click here
• SuperDuo Beads "C" - click here
• 10/0 Czech Seed Beads "D" - click here
• 13/0 Czech Seed Beads "E" - click here
• 4mm Round Beads "F" - click here
• Cabochon Pressed Bead "G" - click here

1. Pick up 1D, 2A, 1D, 1B. Repeat 6 more times.

2. Make a double knot to form a circle and sew through all the beads one more time. Step down to the second hole of any vexolo or crescent beads. I prefer to step down between two crescents – this aloud me to hide the thread. 

3. Add 1C between all the beads of the previous row. Step down to the second hole of a superduo bead.

4. Add 3E, 1D, 3E between superduos over crescent beads and 1G over vexolos. Go out of any D

5. Add 3E, 1D, 3E between D beads of the previous row. Insert your cabochon and pull the thread tight.

6. Add 2D between D beads of the previous row. Sew through all of these beads once more and pull the thread tight

7. Here we have our bezel ready.

8. To hide the thread tail that we have left at the very beginning insert it to the needle, sew through the second hole of a vexolo (or crescent) then go through some other beads and seed beads to the back side and carefully cut off the thread.

9. To add some decoration go out of any superduo bottom hole. Pick up 7E and sew through vexolo.

10. Pick up 7E and sew back through 1C, 1F, 1C…

11. …4E…

12. …1D, 4E…

13. …1C, 1F, 1C…

14. …and again pick up 7E and sew through vexolo. Pick up 7E and sew back through 1C, 1F, 1C. Repeat all the way round.

15. And the last thing we have to do – make the beaded bail for a chain. Go out of any round bead. Pick up 2E, 1D, 1E, 1G, 13E and sew through 1D as shown on the photo.

16. Pick up 13E and go to the other hole of our cabochon bead from top to bottom (as on the photo).

17. Pick up 1E, 1D, 2E and sew through the next round bead.

18. Almost done! We only have to strengthen the bail. Pass through 1C, 4E. Add 1E and sew through 3E…

19. …1D, 3E…

20. …1D and 10E of the bail.

21. Sew through 10E on the other side of bail.

22. Sew through 1 D, 3E…

23. …1D, 3E. Add 1E and go to 4E. Then to 1C, 1F, 2E, 1D.

24. And sew through the 4th bead of a decoration row.

25. Pick up 1D and sew through the 4th bead of a decoration row (from the top to the bottom, pay attention). Then go to 1D, 2E.
And we only have to hide the thread tail now. Sew trough 1F, 1C and go through seed beads to the back. Sew through some beads there in different directions and carefully cut the thread.
